Man Gets Brutally Arrested in Northern Ireland for Not Self-Isolating

22 August 2021

Think back a year and would you think that Police would storm a house with protective hazmat suits, goggles, gloves & masks on? And then proceed to violently drag a man outside and arrest him?

You probably wouldn't have but that is exactly what has happened.

The Londonderry man has been violently dragged from his house in Northern Ireland by several police officers because they said he refused to self-isolate.

Sam Marie McGinley travelled to Turkey to have an operation that was not available locally. On his return, he was not in a financial position to pay the hotel fees (£1,750 in the UK) and chose to go home, after completing a lateral flow test. The test was negative.

If convicted of breaching Covid-19 regulations, Mr McGinley could be fined up to £10,000 - which he will have little chance of paying.
